Michelle (Shelley) Gray

Michelle Gray has been working as a Māori Research Assistant at the Centre for Public Health Research since 2003 mainly in the area of recruitment, data collection and interviewing. She is currently working on the Worker Exposure Study, the Non-Inflammatory Mechanisms in Asthma Study, the Microbiome in Asthma Study and the Pasifika Gastric Cancer Study. Michelle is interested in Māori Health and in improving the health and well- being of all New Zealanders by reducing inequalities and developing strong and effective policy based on sound research. Michelle has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Policy & Women's Studies (Victoria University) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health (Massey University). Michelle's main Iwi affiliations are Ngāti Porou, Tainui, Ngāti Hei & Ngāti Maniapoto.
