Occupational exposures and possible health effects from residual chemicals in workers handling imported and/ or fumigated containers or goods

The aims of this project are:

  1. To assess the incidence of health effects on the skin, the respiratory and neurological system in workers handling imported and/or fumigated containers or goods.
  2. To obtain data on personal exposures to the most commonly found chemicals in containers in workers handling imported or fumigated containers or goods.
  3. To assess whether acute and/or chronic health effects are associated with peak and/ or average exposure levels.
  4. To assess whether specific work-related factors are associated with peak exposures
  5. To assess possible preventative programmes.
